I do not show Akhami very often. I am not good enough handler to convince her to relax in the show ring, as Akhami makes all kind of postures except the show one when she enters the ring. However, outside the ring, she is playful and she provokes her friends or us to play and she monitors people around to know if they have anything tasty to eat. In spite of her slightly negative approach towards shows, she has been awarded some titles of which I may be proud. It is interesting that the more numerous the competition, the better Akhami´s result.

Akhami was shown for the first time when one year old, in 2008. We participated in the biggest Azawakh event of the year, the Annual Azawakh Specialty in Germany. That year, 81 Azawakhs were registered. I did not expect much success in such a numerous competition, however my little Akhami, being on the show leash for the second time in her life, was awarded the Best Junior Female title, then Junior BOB, and finally Junior BIS 3 titles. It was really a great day for all of us, as Tari, shown in the Champion class, won not only his class, but also the Best Male title and finally the BOB and BIS titles! It was a dream that came true!

Akhami achieved success in other shows as well: it is worth mentioning that she won BOB title in the Annual Sighthound Specialty in the Czech Republic in 2009 (14 Azawakhs registered). In 2010, she was awarded the Central European Sighthound Specialty Winner title and she became the Champion of the Czech Republic.

Akhami´s show career is not only about winning, but when she wins, it is worth it!
